Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons sage
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 2 cups green beans, trimmed
  • 1 can cranberry sauce
  • 1 pumpkin pie

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by rubbing it with butter and seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. In a pan, sauté onion and celery until soft. Mix with bread crumbs, sage, and thyme.
  4. Stuff the turkey with the bread mixture.
  5. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
  6. Roast in the oven for 3-4 hours, basting occasionally.
  7. Cook the mashed potatoes and green beans while the turkey cooks.
  8. Serve the turkey with sides and cranberry sauce.
  9. Finish the meal with pumpkin pie for dessert.
