A traditional Thanksgiving dinner featuring turkey, sides, and desserts.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups bread crumbs
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 2 teaspoons sage
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 cups green beans, trimmed
- 1 can cranberry sauce
- 1 pumpkin pie
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by rubbing it with butter and seasoning with salt and pepper.
- In a pan, sauté onion and celery until soft. Mix with bread crumbs, sage, and thyme.
- Stuff the turkey with the bread mixture.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast in the oven for 3-4 hours, basting occasionally.
- Cook the mashed potatoes and green beans while the turkey cooks.
- Serve the turkey with sides and cranberry sauce.
- Finish the meal with pumpkin pie for dessert.
Notes
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
- Adjust the seasoning to your taste.
- You can prepare sides a day in advance.
