A rich butter rub to enhance the flavor of your Thanksgiving turkey.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon, zested

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix softened butter with rosemary, thyme, sage, garlic, salt, pepper, and lemon zest.
  3. Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
  4. Gently lift the skin of the turkey and spread the butter mixture under the skin.
  5. Rub the remaining butter mixture over the outside of the turkey.
  6. Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a roasting pan.
  7. Roast the turkey in the preheated oven until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  8. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
