Description
Bomboloni are Italian donuts, soft and fluffy, filled with sweet cream or jam.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 packet of active dry yeast
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Filling of choice (cream, jam)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour, sugar, eggs, melted butter, and salt. Knead the dough until smooth.
- Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough and cut into circles.
- Place filling in the center of half the circles and top with remaining circles.
- Seal the edges well and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep pan. Fry the donuts until golden brown on both sides.
- Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar.

- Use your favorite filling for variety.
- Ensure the oil temperature is correct for even frying.
