- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water.
- Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add oil, salt, and flour gradually.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes.
- Place dough in a greased bowl and cover with a cloth.
- Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into two loaves.
- Place loaves in greased bread pans.
- Let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes.
Notes
- Store bread in a cool, dry place.
- This bread is great for freezing.
- Cut bread only after it has cooled.
