A traditional Amish dessert featuring a sweet and nutty oatmeal filling in a flaky crust.
Ingredients

- 1 unbaked pie crust
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, combine rolled oats, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
- Add milk, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Mix well.
- If using, stir in chopped nuts.
- Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the filling is set.
- Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
- Great with whipped cream or ice cream.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
